lol, i went exactly one year without posting on this blog thing! i've been a little busy with the real job lately... will post about that later since part of my required duties involved going to art basel in miami at the end of the year :)
so to keep a year long story short for now, i'll just post the last thing i painted in 2010 - which happens to be my favorite thing that i painted in 2010.
this was painted with my boyfriend kevin for his mom. when she was young and living in south dakota, she would pretend that she was a little indian girl. kevin asked if we could do a painting for her and thought a little indian girl would be perfect. so he found the image for her, we discussed colors and composition and bam - i went nuts with some painting.
we weren't able to get the background to show up in the picture, but it's this really soft turquoise to orange wash. i also took a tiny brush and added hair highlights and outlines in copper. i really love the way this turned out - nice way to end the year!
